WIE Code was an online coding challenge conducted by the ORE Women under the patronage of Kochi Hub as a pre-event to Hack Kochi #2, a 24 hour hackathon that provisioned a platform for innovative and creative minds among women tech enthusiasts to showcase their pioneering ideas.
The event took place in 3 phases with the initial 2 levels being participated by 21 teams of 4 members each, marking a total of 84 active participants. WIE Code commenced the first phase of this exhilarating battle of codes on 5th October ’19. The registrants were asked to solve three questions within the time frame of 4 days. 5 teams who emerged to the top with their spirited efforts and fluid dexterity were announced via digital poster on 11 October ’19. 12 October ’19 marked the beginning of the second phase which spanned for a duration of 4 days. The list of top five teams from this level were released via poster on 19 October ’19. Based on the aggregate score of the first 2 phases, 10 teams qualified for the third and final phase. The selected teams were announced on 20 October ’19. Phase 3 precisely commenced on 23 October ’19 and continued for a period of 3 days until 25 October ’19. 3 teams befittingly bagged the top positions based on their cumulative scores in all 3 rounds. The winners were officially announced on 26 October ’19 and were awarded free tickets to Hack Kochi #2.
WIE Code not only catered to the empowerment of female techies but also served as a ground breaking amalgamation of science and technology with brilliant ideas. Overall, the event facilitated an opportunity to unearth the true potential of the female coders of our student fraternity, develop their wit and grit in an environment conducive to holistic learning and synchrony
