   As part of the Students Humanitarian Technology Conference organized by IEEE Kerala Section SIGHT and IEEE LINK, IEEE Malabar Hub conducted a pre-event for the outreach of the same. ‘Racking Brains’ – a Mini Hackathon Competition for finding the best solution providers for the given problem. The event happened a day long on 25th April 2021.

   A whatsapp group was created for communication, as well as students were informed about the event guidelines via mail too. The problem statement “Find a unique solution to keep wild animals far from destroying crops and to tackle the encounter without posing a threat to the farmers as well as the wild animals” was given at morning 9:00 AM of the event day and submission form was opened from 10:00 AM. Time for submission was allotted up to 9:00 PM. Around 100 and more students from various colleges throughout the Kerala Section registered for the event, out of which 30 students submitted their ideas.

   From which Vasant Joseph of School of Engineering, CUSAT secured the first position, Arjun P of Government Engineering College, Barton Hill and Dinu K Reji of Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, Kottayam secured the second and third positions respectively.

In overall, the event welcomed a positive response from the participants in terms of organization as well as the uniqueness involved.
