Abstract:
‘Sell Me A Pen’ was conducted as a platform for the participants to showcase their ability to spontaneously do a customer’s pitching of a random object given to them. The purpose of the event was to test the soft skills and presence of mind of participants.

Description:
The event ‘Sell Me A Pen’ was conducted by IEEE Kochi Hub in association with IEEE Kerala Section SIGHT as a pre-event for Students Humanitarian Technology Conference on 11th April, 2021 at 5PM. The event registrations began on April 8th. The judges for the event were:
● Sreehari A S – Program Coordinator of SIGHT
● Althaf Muhammed – PR Coordinator of YP Kerala
● Midhun M – Secretary of SIGHT
● Gitin Jacob – Secretary of CNAG Kerala
The event began by addressing the audience and introducing all the judges. Each participant joined the Google meet at the time allotted to them. The time given to each participant was 5 minutes in total within which they were given 30 seconds to think of their pitch followed by 3 minutes to speak and convince the judges to purchase the object given to them. The main criteria for judgement were based on languages, perspective, creativity and whether or not the judges were convinced. There were 26 participants who took part and among them Gautham Anand from CUSAT bagged the first place followed by Anna Rose and Ben Baiju from RSET winning the second place and Kushagra Dhingra winning the third place. The event was concluded by thanking everyone for their esteemed presence.

Outcome:
This was a wonderful opportunity for the participants to exhibit their marketing skills . The winner of the event was awarded with a one-year free IEEE membership.
